Live Football, Villanova Vs. Fordham Results

On the 13th of September 2015, The Villanova Wildcats proved to be too much for the Fordham Rams defeating them, 14-7.

After opening the season with a loss to Connecticut, the Wildcats were able to find victory against their long time rivals it what would be the 30th meeting of the two teams.

The star player of the day was Villanova’s John Robertson who threw a game-winning 4-yard touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter that was to be the nail in the coffin for the Rams attempts to take the game.

Early in the first quarter, Kevin Gulyas was able to cap an 11-play, 69-yard drive after receiving a 6-yard touchdown pass from Robertson.
Using the momentum Roberston was able to drive 56-yards in seven plays putting the Wildcats firmly in the lead 14-0 with just over 12 minutes left in the first half.

Fordham did not let this game go without giving it their all, with Kevin Anderson throwing a 20-yard scoring strike to Correy Caddle halving the Wildcats lead with 3:52 left in the first half.

Villanova showed a dominant performance bullying Fordham to only 111 yards on 11 of their 23 attempts. Holding the Rams to only 71 yards on the ground on 37 carries.

Villanova’s quarterback John Roberston managed to have a stellar performance finishing 12 of 18 for 161 yards passing also carrying 21 times for 45 yards.

Robertson wasn’t the only one to have a great day on the field with running back Javon White managing 143 yards on 23 carries.

After what was a dominant performance for Villanova it will remain to be seen if they can keep up this momentum throughout the season, leaving behind their rocky opening start to the season.
