In less than a month boxing fans will be treated to arguably one of the biggest fights that the sport has to offer as Miguel Cotto will put his WBC middleweight title on the line against rising star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Not only are two of the biggest names in boxing going up against each other, but it seems as if we have a battle between one of the generation’s best veterans in Cotto and a young lion looking to make his mark in “Canelo”.

Despite spending the majority of his early days as a welterweight, Cotto seems to have hit his stride training under Freddie Roach as a middleweight, although he has been fighting at catch weights. The Puerto Rican slugger has scored three-straight stoppage wins over Delvin Rodriguez, Sergio Martinez, and Daniel Geale, and has looked impressive in the process.

Alvarez on the other hand is only 25 years of age but packs a wealth of experience and a wealth of skill. Since suffering his first loss to Floyd Mayweather back in 2013, the Mexican has rattled off three-straight wins of his own over Alfredo Angulo, Erislandy Lara, and most recently a bone crushing finish over James Kirkland.
