2015 Georgia Preview

It’s no secret Georgia are a great team. With NFL level talent on both sides of the ball, the team should be able to climb to a top 10 ranking this season. There will be times Georgia looks like one of the best teams in college football, despite all of this Georgia is going to inevitably suffer a few losses that keep them from finally turning the corner.

The Bulldogs have been able to produce ten or more wins in their last four years it’s clear that Georgia is a tough team capable of breaching the top ten.

Last year Georgia let a few imperative games slip, foiling their attempts at a title. There was the shootout loss to a mediocre South Carolina team and a crushing loss from Florida. They were better than some of the higher-ranked teams in the league. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to be very good you must be perfect to achieve a title.

With the rest of the East catching up the division is going to be much more difficult to deal with. However, Georgia should be able to lead the pack and come out in front.

What you need to know about the offence:

  • This will be the first season with new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Brian will continue the winning strategy of getting the ball the Nick Chubb.
  • The running back situation is phenomenal as usual with Chubb taking the lead with many talented players behind.
  • After the loss of line centre David Andrews, the rest of the line will all have to do their parts but it should be another strong season.

What you need to know about the defence:

  • Jeremy Pruitt did a fantastic job in his first year as head of the defence. He will attempt to continue this throughout 2015 with a very capable team behind him.

Georgia will be successful if they can play the perfect season and not give away avoidable losses. They will need to ensure they’re running game is on point and that their run defence is rock solid.
