Britain Hart Explains Post-Fight Promo Following Win Over Paige VanZant

Britain Hart made headlines last week not only for her win over Paige VanZant but her post-fight promo.

Despite many believing she was just being served up for VanZant to have a successful bare-knuckle debut, Hart managed to outpoint the former UFC star to earn the unanimous decision verdict in the BKFC KnuckleMania headliner on Friday.

What made even more headlines was her post-fight promo where she notably claimed she wasn’t a person but a feeling as it quickly went viral in the combat sports world.

What led to it? Adrenaline more than anything.

I’ve explained it to people before, and it’s really the only right way to explain who I am as a fighter and as a person,” Hart told MMA Fighting. “I’m a fighter, but I’m a mom, I’m a friend. I’m all these things, but the best thing to say is ‘I’m a f*cking feeling.’

“It came out a little crazy, because I just did bare-knuckle, went 10 minutes getting punched bare-knuckle in the face … but I didn’t have any idea that it would get attention like that.”

Despite many believing she had done more than enough to win, it’s always hard to tell what the judges are thinking — especially when VanZant was expected to win.

That is another reason why Hart reacted the way that she did in her post-fight speech — the fact that the judges didn’t rob her.

“Of course, I overreacted a little more than usual, because it was a surprise to me that people are actually living up to their word in being fair in their decisions and choice-making,” she added.

As for a rematch? Hart has no problem with that. Especially as she feels she could get the knockout over VanZant in a second meeting.

“I think I clearly beat her,” Hart said. “I’m honestly thinking every round I beat her, but if she wanted to do it again, I’m a company person. … If we did do the rematch, I’d fix the problems I had that would have perhaps knocked her out.”
