Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury could still happen, says Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn
The long-awaited British heavyweight superfight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could still happen, as per their respective promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn.
For the longest time now, fight fans have been waiting to see Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury fight one another. There was certainly a time gone by in which it would’ve been much more feasible, and it would’ve been more alluring. Alas, it didn’t quite come to fruition, leading to plenty of questions as to whether or not they’d ever be able to get it over the finish line.
Up to this point, it hasn’t quite happened. Now, with Anthony Joshua coming off the back of a knockout loss and Tyson Fury seemingly being retired, some would argue it’s further away than ever. Others, however, would suggest that Fury will eventually come out of retirement, setting us up for an absolutely blockbuster encounter between Britain’s finest.
In a recent interview, Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn spoke about the feasibility of it taking place.
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury teased by promoters
“The obvious one, AJ Fury,” Hearn said of one fight he wanted to make with Warren. “Who knows what the future holds?”
“That’s the fight we all wanted to see,” Warren said. “Us, the British fans, the fighters wanted it, for some reason it didn’t happen but it’s never too late. Who knows, if Tyson decides he’s fed up mowing the lawn, it may happen.”
