Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez is not only arguably the face of boxing — he’s also the most marketable male athlete in the world.

That’s according to a recent study conducted by London-based media company SportsPro (via Boxing Scene).

Although he didn’t get top spot as the top three was exclusively female athletes — gymnast Simone Biles, tennis star Naomi Asaka and soccer player Ashlyn Harris — Alvarez did come at No. 4 making him the top male athlete when it comes to marketability.

The super middleweight champion was graded by the following criteria:

Frequency: 12

Reach: 55

Engagement: 37

Fan Demo: 41

Fan Attract: 31

Influencer Score: 177

Other boxers making the list include heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua who was at a surprising No. 75 overall. Gervonta Davis, meanwhile, came in at No. 89.

In other combat sports, MMA superstar Conor McGregor got No. 56 while a surprising entry saw Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate Zubaira Tukhugov come in at No. 77. Former UFC women’s strawweight Paige VanZant was No. 100.
