Canelo Alvarez provides update on location for Terence Crawford fight

Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez has provided an update for fans ahead of his proposed collision with Terence Crawford later this year.

As we know, for the longest time, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford have been linked with a blockbuster fight against one another. It looks set to be one of the biggest boxing matchups in recent memory, with some even comparing it to Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao – although that may be a bit premature.

One thing we know is this: Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford want the fight to happen. It seems as if September is when it is currently scheduled in for, and while there are rumors of it taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, there’s been no official confirmation about that. Of course, given the stakes and the magnitude of the fight, it certainly feels too big to put in an arena.

In a recent interview, Canelo Alvarez himself opened up on the current status of the fight and whether or not it’ll be held at Allegiant Stadium.

“We’re still working on that, but we’re going to make sure everything is the best,” said Canelo Alvarez to the media when asked if the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is still under consideration for his fight against Terence Crawford on September 13th.

“It’s a fight that the people should enjoy in Las Vegas.” When asked where the fight will be staged, Canelo said, “Vegas. Yes, of course. There’s no better weekend in Vegas than Mexican Independence Day.”

Alvarez’s legacy has already been cemented as one of the all time greats but with that being said, there are still plenty of questions regarding his ability to deal with someone as dangerous as Terence Crawford. Either way, it’s going to be an interesting fight.
