Claressa Shields Says ‘I Could Beat Up Jake Paul’ And Vows To Never Fight On YouTuber’s Undercard

Claressa Shields says she will never box on Jake Paul’s undercard in her career.

Shields is part of Sky Sports Boxing and BOXXER’s new era and is preparing for her second MMA fight but after that, she could box Savannah Marshall next time out, which will be a massive fight. However, as women’s boxing has still not gotten the respect it deserves but Shields says she still would never box on a Jake Paul undercard to get more attention.

“Don’t ever disrespect me,” Shields said at a PFL press conference (via SkySports). “I would never fight on the undercard of Jake Paul. I’m a three-division world champion and a two-time Olympic gold medallist in boxing. I would never fight on Jake Paul’s undercard. I don’t know what Amanda Serrano’s purse was – I think it was $75,000-$100,000. I would never fight another boxing match for that money because I’m worth so much more. I’m a $1 million fighter.”

Part of the reason why she wouldn’t box on a Paul undercard is due to the fact Claressa Shields is confident she would be able to beat the YouTuber. She also says Paul is having a circus show and her skills are not that.

“[Jake Paul] was having a circus show. No disrespect to Tyron Woodley or Jake Paul, but I’m a real boxer.” Shields continued. “I could beat up Jake Paul at the weight class I’m at right now. I would never fight on the undercard of someone who does not possess the skills or accomplishments that I have.”

Shields then took to Twitter to clarify her comments but made it known she wouldn’t box on his undercard.

“DON’T GET IT TWISTED! The question was “Would you fight the Undercard of Jake Paul like Amanda Serrano” my answer was “don’t disrespect me, No I would not fight the undercard of him, I listed my accomplishments & let it be known NEVER WILL I EVER AND JAKE PAUL WOULD FALL TO ME,” Shields wrote.
