Eddie Hearn admits he enjoys Misfits Boxing product
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has admitted that he enjoyed Misfits Boxing 22 over the weekend and is starting to understand the product more.
As we know, Eddie Hearn has a love-hate relationship with influencer boxing. While he’s gotten involved in it to some degree, and is even pushing for Anthony Joshua to fight Jake Paul, he’s certainly disagreed with some of the aspects of it.
With that being said, Eddie Hearn is also a businessman, and he understands when there’s money to be made.
This past weekend, we saw Misfits Boxing 22 take palce with the main event seeing Darren Till knock out Luke Rockhold before calling out Carl Froch. In a recent interview, Eddie Hearn gave his thoughts on the whole thing.
Eddie Hearn’s view on Misfits Boxing
“I watched it, loads of shoutouts, I actually enjoyed it,” Hearn said on IFL TV.
“You know what, I’ve actually gotten my head around it now, that it’s just another world… I didn’t really know what I was watching last night and actually, Misfits is a good word because it’s all kind of just bundled in isn’t it.
“I actually think it’s really watchable, I think it’s a really good brand but what it is, is an entertainment format,” Hearn continued.
Hearn then gave his thoughts on a possible Darren Till vs Carl Froch fight.
“I’ve got to be honest, and I don’t think retired legends, like Carl, that’s what he is, should go anywhere near it. But I love the fight, I love the fight.
“You know why I love the fight? Because Darren Till is a decent boxer but even by his own admission, he couldn’t lace Carl Froch’s boots pound-for-pound, when Carl was what he was, but that was a long time ago.
“I’ve got to be honest, I think it’s a cracking matchup, I really do. But he won’t do it because it’s not enough money,” Hearn revealed.
