George Kambosos Jr is ready for his ‘destiny’ against Richardson Hitchins
George Kambosos Jr believes it is his destiny to defeat undefeated prospect Richardson Hitchins when they collide in just a few short weeks.
When these two warriors meet at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 14, the overwhelming expectation will be that Richardson Hitchins extends his unbeaten run in professional boxing. Alas, this is George Kambosos Jr we’re talking about here – a man who has been dubbed the ultimate underdog on more than one occasion throughout his career.
While George Kambosos Jr has certainly had his fair share of setbacks, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t also had some of the highest highs that this sport can offer. His tremendous and unexpected win over Teofimo Lopez is at the top of that list, and even though you won’t find many who believe lightning can strike twice, the man himself does – and that’s all that really matters.
In a recent interview in which he was face-to-face with his rival, George Kambosos Jr wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, as is so often the case.
George Kambosos Jr’s big plan
“This is not about money, don’t get it twisted, I’ve made a s***load of money. This is about catching that feeling again, and I’m coming back to the same place I caught that feeling before,” said Kambosos Jr. to Matchroom Boxing. “This is about proving to the world who I am, the champion that I am, the champion I have been. I’ve been to this place, I proved myself as an underdog, and I’m coming to do it again.”
“If you fought Lopez, Haney twice and Lomachenko when I fought them, they would beat your ass, and I will beat your a** on June 14,” said Kambosos.
