Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul has officially been sanctioned as a professional boxing match.

Tyson and Paul are set to box on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will air on Netflix, and on Monday, it was revealed the fight will officially be sanctioned by a professional bout.

“Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome,” said Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian, in a press release. “Over the past six weeks MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) to sanction Paul Vs Tyson and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point.

“MVP has championed fighter choice since its inception, including advocating for women’s boxing to be contested with 2 or 3 minute rounds based on the particular fight matchup. Paul vs Tyson and Taylor vs Serrano 2 will both be contested with 2 minute rounds and each mega-fight will have its winner. Thank you to the TDLR and Holden Boxing for their efforts throughout this process to date and we look forward to working closely with them as we approach fight night.”

With the fight being stationed as a pro fight, the outcome will be added to their pro records, but the bout will be contested over eight-two-minute rounds and both will each wear 14oz gloves.

Mike Tyson is 50-6 and two NC as a pro and his last pro fight was in 2005 when he suffered a stoppage loss to Kevin McBride. He did box Roy Jones Jr. in November of 2020 in an exhibition bout.

Jake Paul, meanwhile, is 9-1 as a pro boxer and coming off a first-round knockout win over Ryan Bourland. His lone loss came by split decision to Tommy Fury.
