Moses Itauma explains win-win situation with possible Oleksandr Usyk fight
British boxing sensation Moses Itauma has explained why he’s in a win-win situation if he faces Oleksandr Usyk next.
Right now, Moses Itauma is one of the most intriguing boxing prospects out there. He is coming off the back of a sensational victory over Dillian Whyte and ever since then, the 20-year-old has been tipped for some big things – which is hardly surprising given just how dominant he’s been in his professional boxing career thus far.
Oleksandr Usyk, meanwhile, is the undisputed king of the heavyweight division. Nobody really knows what he’s going to do next in the wake of his triumph over Daniel Dubois, with some suggesting that a possible showdown with Moses Itauma makes a lot of sense.
In a recent interview, Moses Itauma explained why he’s so open to the idea of squaring off with Usyk, outside of simply wanting to fight the best of the best.

“I don’t know if it’s Efe Ajgba or Frank Sanchez. They wasn’t in that list of three names,” said Moses Itauma to Boxing King Media, arguing that he didn’t turn down Frank Sanchez.
“There’s a win-win situation with Usyk. If I go in there and win, I’m the heavyweight champion of the world. If I go in there and I lose, I’ve just lost to Usyk, who is the champion of the world, and I’m 20 years old. So, it’s a win-win situation.”

Itauma has so much potential, but some would argue that him going up against Usyk would be a bad idea if he wound up getting finished in a decisive manner. In equal measure, if he was somehow able to pull off the upset win, it would elevate him to an unbelievable level at such a young age.
