Tyson Fury will never fight again, says Bob Arum

Heavyweight boxing legend Tyson Fury will never fight again, his former promoter Bob Arum has stated.
As we know, Tyson Fury is one of the greatest heavyweights of his generation – and perhaps one of the best of all time. Unfortunately, following back to back losses at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk, ‘The Gypsy King’ made the decision to retire from professional boxing.
Of course, he’s done this several times in the past, before ultimately deciding to get back into the ring. Tyson Fury certainly doesn’t have anything left to prove at the elite level and we all know that to be true, but in equal measure, there are some interesting fights still out there for him. Most notably, there’s the proposed superfight against Anthony Joshua that fans have been eager to see for years now.
In a recent interview, the aforementioned Bob Arum gave his thoughts on the future of Tyson Fury.
Bob Arum’s view on Tyson Fury’s future
“If I was a betting man I would say he will never fight again,” Arum told the 5 Live Boxing podcast with Steve Bunce.
Marvin Hagler had an expression – ‘a rich guy who goes to bed wearing silk pyjamas doesn’t get up in the morning to do road work.
“Tyson, really, I don’t think wants to get up in the morning and do road work and go through the experience of having to train when economically he doesn’t have to do it any more.”

Arum certainly has a point when it comes to Tyson Fury’s motivation. He knows that he’s done everything there is to do in the sport and while there’s always plenty of money to be made, any kind of route back to a world title shot seems unlikely. For now, all we can do it sit back and wait to see how it all plays out.
