Frank Warren Confident Tyson Fury Will Beat Oleksandr Usyk: “Heβs The Best Heavyweight Out There”
Frank Warren has full confidence Tyson Fury will defeat Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury and Usyk are re-scheduled to boxΒ on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after a cut above Fury’s eye delayed the bout from February 17. The Brit is coming off a split decision win over Francis Ngannou, but Warren believes it was just a one-off bad performance.
βNo, no,β Warren told SecondsOut. βIβm a big believer in him. I think heβs the best heavyweight out there. I know obviously people feel that there are some question marks after the last fight against Ngannou. For me, he had an off night that he won a fight. Iβve seen fighters have an off night and get beat. He won the fight. We will see.β
Frank Warren also believes Oleksandr Usyk enters the bout with questions as he’s coming off the controversial win over Daniel Dubois.
βYou got to look at Usyk as well,β Warren said. βUsyk against Dubois. Now Dubois has shown that he (Usyk) can be hurt, [that he is] a little vulnerable to the body. Will Tyson exploit that or go a different way of going about it to win the fight? I donβt know. I fancy him, big time, Tyson. Iβm not going to bet against him. If I thought he would lose the fight I would try and talk him out of having the fight.β
Ultimately, Fury and Usyk will get to settle it in the ring on May 18 for the undisputed heavyweight title.
