Oleksandr Usyk probably won’t fight again in 2025, says Frank Warren
Heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk is unlikely to fight again for the rest of the year, says promoter Frank Warren.
Right now, Oleksandr Usyk is easily one of the best boxers in the sport. He has accomplished some great things in his career and in his most recent outing, the veteran was able to knock out Daniel Dubois to ensure he maintained his position at the top of the heavyweight division.
Ever since then, questions have arisen regarding what Oleksandr Usyk will do next. The 38-year-old has been able to turn back the challenge of most top contenders, many of whom have been British.
In a recent interview, Frank Warren gave his own thoughts on a potential timeline for the return of Oleksandr Usyk.
Frank Warren on Oleksandr Usyk’s future
“[Usyk] asked for time out from the WBO because of an injury and he provided evidence and that’s the position at the moment,” Warren told Sky Sports.
“Will he fight before the end of the year? I very much doubt it.”
“We’re talking about quite a few heavyweight shows which we’re working on right now, hopefully we’ll be in a position very soon, and it’ll have to be very soon because we’re looking for one of them to take place in October.”
“That says a lot about them [Parker and Wardley wanting to fight each other] but that happens in this heavyweight division. The fighters are fighting each other, no one’s ducking anybody. They’re happening and we’re making them happen and they’re making them happen,” Warren said. “Everybody wants to see these fights and we’re working very hard to deliver.”

Usyk is an absolute warrior and given his age, we should all take the time to appreciate the time we have left with him at the elite level.
