Canelo Alvarez takes a shot at David Benavidez

Boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez has taken a shot at David Benavidez as fans continue to speculate over the possibility of them fighting one another in the future.
As we know, Canelo Alvarez is one of the biggest stars in the sport of boxing – certainly in this generation. He has been a part of some incredibly big pay-per-view events and fights in general, and it certainly seems as if he’s still got a good few years left in him at the elite level.
One man that Canelo Alvarez hasn’t faced just yet, however, is David Benavidez. It’s a contest that many fans and pundits alike to see but for whatever reason, it’s never come to fruition.
When discussing David Benavidez in an interview recently, Canelo Alvarez didn’t exactly have the nicest of things to say about his rival.
Canelo Alvarez questions David Benavidez
“I think the way he talks, he thinks he’s Superman, and he’s very disrespectful, not just with me with everybody, and he’s accomplished nothing.
“He’s not even a champion, he’s not even in my weight class already and you know there’s a lot of things that doesn’t make sense, plus this point in my career I can do whatever I want.”

We can’t imagine that Canelo Alvarez is scared of anyone – but for the time being, his focus is going to be on fighting Terence Crawford. That particular showdown is going to make him a great deal of money, and hopefully, at some point, we get to see the Benavidez fight too.
Canelo marches to the beat of his own drum and although he’s picked up a couple more haters in recent years, that doesn’t mean he isn’t still an elite level talent. Buckle up, fight fans, because things are about to get interesting.
