Canelo Alvarez is too big for Terence Crawford, says Shane Mosley

Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez

Boxing legend Shane Mosley is of the belief that Canelo Alvarez is a bit too big for Terence Crawford to deal with when they eventually fight.

As we know, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are set to collide later this year. It is being billed as a superfight, and that’s because it’s exactly that. This is one of the biggest boxing fights in recent memory and while there are many different points of view regarding how it’s going to play out, we’d say it’s safe to assume it’s going to be a whole lot of fun.

One topic that people continue to hang on is the size difference between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. The Mexican sensation is much bigger in terms of natural size, whereas Crawford is considered by many to be a better pure boxer. Alas, we won’t actually know how it’s going to play out until they’re stood across the ring from each other.

One man who has been involved in plenty of big fights throughout his life is Shane Mosley. In a recent interview, Mosley spoke openly about Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Shane Mosley’s view on Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford

“I think Canelo is too big for Crawford. If Crawford was a mover like the rest of them, then maybe he could have a good chance with Canelo,” said Shane Mosley to Fighthype when asked about Terence Crawford’s chances against Canelo Alvarez.

“I think that, being that Crawford is a fighter, that’s going to be a problem. He’s a fighter. He wants to fight. He can move a little bit, but his heart is not in moving. So, he’s going to have to sit there and fight with Canelo,” said Mosley.

“If you sit there and fight with Canelo, he’s that much bigger than you. I don’t know. But everybody thinks Crawford is a great boxer,” said Mosley. “He’s this, he’s that, which he is. He’s a great fighter. I think he was a great fighter at 140 and 147, and he seems to be just good at 154. Now, we’re going to 168.”
