Daniel Dubois’ Trainer Believes Tyson Fury Will ‘Maul’ Oleksandr Usyk

Don Charles, the trainer of Daniel Dubois believes Tyson Fury will cruise to a win over Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury and Usyk are finally set to fight in February for the undisputed heavyweight title in arguably the biggest bout in the sport. The two will fight in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 17 to unify the heavyweight division.

Heading into the fight, Dubois’ trainer believes Tyson Fury will be too much for Oleksandr Usyk and expects it to be a one-sided fight.

“This Fury who has gone silent, I believe he’s gone silent, he’s gone away to train, he’s taking it seriously. Forgive me if I get this wrong, but I don’t even think it will be a hard fight for Fury. He’ll maul him, he’s too big for Usyk, he’ll maul him, hit him, tie him up, push him off, he’ll maul him,” Charles told Talk Sport.

“I’ve looked at this fight and no matter how I look at it I come to one conclusion. Yes, Usyk is an exceptional, brilliant technician/tactician. Usyk has a fantastic rhythm that can offset Fury. [He needs to throw] lots of feints, shoot to the body, leave the head alone. Throw all your combinations to the waist, don’t go up, leave Fury’s head alone, that’s what I would advise,” Charles continued.

Tyson Fury enters the fight as a small betting favorite, but Daniel Dubois’ trainer has full confidence in the Brit to become the undisputed heavyweight champion again.

As for Dubois, he’s coming off a 10th-round TKO win over Jarrell Miller to improve to 20-2 and return to the win column after a stoppage loss to Oleksandr Usyk. In his career, Dubois holds notable wins over Kevin Lerena, Bogdan Dinu, and Trevor Bryan among others.
