Eddie Hearn Doesn’t Think Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk Would Be An Entertaining Fight

Eddie Hearn doesn’t have high hopes for Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk in terms of entertainment.

After Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua in the rematch, both him and Fury made it known they want the fight to happen. Fury said he would end his retirement to make it happen and the hope is, fans will see the bout sometime next year.

However, one problem is what Fury is asking for which Hearn believes will be a major problem.

“What does Fury want? A half a billion? Well, he ain’t getting anywhere near that kind of money, so maybe he doesn’t take the fight. I’m not so sure that he does,” Hearn said to IFL TV. “If he’s a man of his word, which we all know he isn’t, then a half a billion or he’s not fighting, there you go. He ain’t fighting because he ain’t getting half a billion. Nowhere near. He’s not negotiating with any governments. He’s setting a price and saying he won’t fight for a penny less.”

If Tyson Fury does come down on his price and the Oleksandr Usyk fight happens, Eddie Hearn doesn’t think it will be that entertaining. Why he believes that is due to the fact both are so technical that sometimes it doesn’t lead to an entertaining fight.

“Some people put up clickbait. My line the other day was I don’t think it’s a very entertaining fight, but I think it’s an intriguing fight. I don’t believe that their styles are going to make for a great fight, but I think it’s very intriguing,” Hearn said. You’ve got two geniuses in the ring, two tremendous fighters. No one puts that bit up when they put my quotes up. I just think Usyk’s very, very difficult to beat and I give him the edge.”
