Fabio Wardley scores stunning comeback knockout win over Justis Huni

British heavyweight Fabio Wardley scored a stunning comeback knockout win over Justis Huni last night to capture the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title and maintain his undefeated record.
In his hometown of Ipswich, Fabio Wardley was hoping to put on a show at Portman Road. He went up against Justis Huni, his short notice opponent, who came to fight. He was there to prove a point and upset the odds and through the first 10 rounds, he made it known that he was the more technically skilled boxer. Unfortunately, all of that meant nothing by the time the end of the bout came.
That’s because Fabio Wardley scored a vicious knockout win in Deontay Wilder fashion, putting the rest of the heavyweight division on notice in the process. While there are definitely some holes that need to be fixed if he’s serious about mixing it up with the big boys, that’s the kind of power that is always going to keep you in the fight no matter how long it lasts.
After the bout, Fabio Wardley gave his thoughts on how it all played out on what proved to be an absolutely electric night of action in Suffolk.
Fabio Wardley picks up stunning win
“I don’t profess to being any [Oleksandr] Usyk or Justis Huni who has all the skills, but I know how to win fights and that’s one thing I knew I had to do tonight,” said Wardley.
“Justis Huni is a great operator. We’d drilled everything over and over again. I should’ve performed better in some of those rounds.”

For now, you’d have to think Wardley will thank his lucky stars that he got the win and wait to see what happens when Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois meet for the second time later this summer.
