Francis Ngannou Thinks His Clash With Tyson Fury Is Bigger Than Usyk-Fury Would Be

Francis Ngannou knows how big his fight with Tyson Fury this Saturday is.

Ngannou is set to make his boxing debut in Saudi Arabia on Saturday as he takes on Fury. Entering the fight, Ngannou is a massive underdog, but he has a ton of confidence he can catch Fury.

Although Tyson Fury is a massive favorite, and is already signed to face Oleksandr Usyk, Ngannou thinks this fight is a bigger matchup.

“If you look at it in the right angle, the Usyk fight was the fight that Tyson was supposed [to have before] even me [back in April]. I took this scene and then I got the fight. So, he is fighting me first. We are getting the way bigger fight,” Ngannou said on The MMA Hour. “I don’t really care what he’s gonna do after with Usyk or with whomever is gonna do it. So even though the boxing community will consider that the most legit fight, because it’s for a unified title, I’m having a big stage. It can’t be as big as this, no matter what. So why would I be upset about something that is smaller than what I have?”

However, the hope for a lot of boxing fans is that Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk will come to fruition later this year. But, Francis Ngannou is hopeful he can put all that to bed by knocking Fury out.

“That’s their problem, that’s not mine,” Ngannou said. “I don’t have to deal with that. I think about like what’s next to me. I’m also going to fight, uh, somewhere in the future or after that fight too. For example, I’m going to fight in PFL early next year. We haven’t announced that yet, but I’m going to fight. There is a fight going on. We both definitely going to fight after this fight.”
