Freddie Roach Confident Manny Pacquiao Will Make Light Work Of Conor McGregor

Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, predicts an easy night at the office for the Filipino fighter if he ends up sharing the ring with Conor McGregor in 2021. McGregor, made headlines in 2017 when he fought Floyd Mayweather, and it looks like he is pushing for a return to the squared circle.

Roach took to twitter with his thoughts on a potential matchup between the current WBA welterweight champion and the former two-division UFC champion.

“””If this is true, Manny Pacquiao will have an easier time with Conor Mcgregor than when he fought Ricky Hatton,” Roach tweeted out.

Pacquiao needed less than two rounds to stop Hatton back in 2009, brutally sending the Englishman to the canvas with less than ten seconds left in the second stanza. The loss effectively ended Hatton’s professional career.

He may not be the fighter he was ten years ago. However, Pacquiao is still a world champion. Even if the fight is still up in the air at the moment, odds are already out, and, just like the Mayweather fight, McGregor will again be a heavy underdog to Pacquiao, according to Sports Betting Dime.

The last time fans saw Pacquiao in the ring was in July 2019, when he defeated Keith Thurman to claim the WBA welterweight strap. If he and McGregor do end throwing leather at one another, the Irishman may quickly discover that while Pacquiao and Mayweather may be similar in age, they are worlds apart when it comes to styles.

If Pacquiao decides to push the pace as the opening bell sounds, McGregor will find himself tested in a way he has never been tested before.
