Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua: Eddie Hearn claims talks are underway

Jake Paul

As per Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, there’s a real possibility that Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua could actually happen.

For the longest time now, Jake Paul has been building a nice career for himself both as a boxer and as a promoter. He’s been able to put on some incredible events and just last week, he oversaw the trilogy fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, which aired live on Netflix.

In terms of his own career, Jake Paul hasn’t been shy when it comes to calling out big names. This includes the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua, but of course, nobody has overly high hopes for either of those fights to happen.

As it turns out, though, according to Eddie Hearn, Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua may legitimately be on the table.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua could happen, says Eddie Hearn

“Yeah (there have been discussions), I was with his excellency yesterday, obviously he’d met Jake Paul, I think he would like to do it, you know, but it’s mad enough to happen,” Hearn told Pro Boxing Fans.

“It’s not something we expected, it’s not something we’re targeting, if it’s offered to us I would be shocked if AJ didn’t accept it, why wouldn’t you?

“The plan for us is to fight Tyson Fury next year, if we can squeeze in Jake Paul along the way and you guys want AJ to end this whole process, he’ll gladly do it,” Hearn continued.

Paul has done a lot of great things up to this point, but it’d still be somewhat surreal to see him standing across the ring from Anthony Joshua. At the very least, nobody would be able to say that he hasn’t fought a legitimate boxer anymore.

Buckle up, folks.
