Jake Paul praised as a “genius” by UFC legend

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has been praised as a genius by UFC legend and former interim lightweight title holder Justin Gaethje.

Jake Paul has been on quite a run over the course of the last few years. He has developed and come into his own not just as a boxer, but also as a promoter. You could even make the argument that he’s one of the biggest names in the sport right now and while some may disagree with that, we have to remember that he was recently in the ring facing off against the great Mike Tyson.

Obviously it’s highly unlikely that Jake Paul will ever ascend to the heights of becoming a boxing world champion, but you never know. If he can pick up one or two more wins then it’s possible and in his next outing, he will go head to head with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a fight that will really test where he’s at in terms of his overall quality.

One man who knows what it’s like to make headlines is Justin Gaethje, who has been doing so in the Ultimate Fighting Championship for a long time now. In a recent interview, ‘The Highlight’ gave his thoughts on Jake Paul and praised him for what he’s been able to accomplish in his combat sports career.

“I mean, Jake Paul is a genius,” Gaethje said.

“What he did is so f—— awesome. Because nobody owns him, nothing owns him, and he didn’t have to go through the double A, the whole circuit.”

“But I don’t think it’s going to (stay) a mainstream thing,” Gaethje added. “(Paul’s) doing it less and less. Because they lose a lot of money, whoever’s paying for it.”
