Kell Brook Hints At Retirement: ‘Might Be The End Of The Road’

Brook

Kell Brook might just be calling time on his career soon.

The Briton suffered a fourth-round TKO defeat to Terence Crawford in their WBO welterweight title matchup this past weekend.

Despite a relatively decent start, Brook was caught with a right from Crawford that wobbled him badly and eventually led to a knockdown. Once the action resumed, Crawford went for the kill and ultimately earned the TKO victory.

For Brook, it was his third defeat in his last six fights with many observers calling for him to retire. And it looks like that might be the case.

“I don’t know [if I’ll fight again], I’ll just speak to my family, it might be the end of the road,” Brook told Fighthype.com (via BoxingScene).

Brook was notably shocked at how the fight ended. Although he was caught with a Crawford right hand, it wasn’t a devastating hook or power shot but more a straight than anything.

However, it still wobbled him and ultimately led to him losing the fight a few moments later.

“Never in my career, nobody has ever done that to me in sparring or anything,” Brook added. “It was one of them… I got caught with a shot I didn’t see.

“I’m gutted because nobody could’ve gotten me in better condition. I was bang on the limit. Maybe I could’ve been a bit more relaxed and loose and let the shots go.”

For now, there is no update on what the former IBF welterweight champion plans on doing.

Do you think Brook should retire?
