Kell Brook Thinks Jaron Ennis Will Eventually Replace Spence Jr., Crawford As Welterweight Champ

Jaron Ennis

Kell Brook believes Jaron Ennis is the future of the welterweight division.

On Saturday night, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. are set to fight in a massive scrap as it will unify the welterweight division. It is a fight that has been talked about for years and it will now finally happen.

Although the focus has been on Spence Jr. and Crawford, Brook believes Jaron Ennis will be the future of the division and has been super impressed by him.

“He is looking good, so good that he could be the one to succeed [Spence Jr. and Crawford],” Brook said to Metro.co.uk. “He has great ability, punching power and like these guys, massive boxing IQ. I put him up there in the elite, among the best in the world. We don’t know for certain [how good he can be] until he gets in there with someone better or equal to himself and we see how he responds, how he takes a shot and deals with pressure on a big stage. That is when we know when a fighter has a real X-factor, when they can tie in all those qualities with the ability to do on that highest level.”

Jaron Ennis is 31-0 and one No Contest and is coming off a KO win over Roiman Villa back in January. He as been trying to get a title shot for quite some time and there is hope he will face the winner of this fight next time out.

Ennis is also the current IBF interim welterweight champion and also has notable wins over Custio Clayton, Thomas Dulorme, and Sergey Lipinets. At just 26 years old, Ennis continues to improve and does seem like the future of the welterweight division as Kell Brook states.

Do you agree with Kell Brook that Jaron Ennis is the future of the welterweight division?
