Manny Pacquiao confirms no talks about Floyd Mayweather rematch have happened

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that no talks have taken place yet regarding a rumored rematch between himself and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

This weekend, Manny Pacquiao will go head to head with Mario Barrios in his return fight. While many are counting him out, the man himself certainly seems to believe that he’s got enough left in the tank to make it competitive – and potentially even pick up the win.

The boxing world is a bit split between wanting to see Manny Pacquiao compete again, but also not wanting to see him tarnish his legacy. Of course, if he wins, it’ll likely go down as one of the greatest comeback stories of all time, but that’s a big if.

As previously mentioned, there have been some rumblings that we could see Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr run back their iconic fight from a decade ago. In the following interview, however, Manny states that he’s not focused on that right now.

Manny Pacquiao discusses Floyd Mayweather

โ€œManny Pacquiao is different than others,โ€ said Pacquiao to the media after the final press conference when asked why he hasnโ€™t lost speed at 46. โ€œNot yet,โ€ said Pacquiao on whether heโ€™s had talks with Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight him next if he dethrones WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on Saturday.

โ€œI donโ€™t have that in my mind right now. Thatโ€™s not my focus for Saturday. I always say, โ€˜One at a time.โ€™ Letโ€™s talk about it after the fight,โ€ said Manny about a rematch with Mayweather. โ€œLet me focus on this fight [Barrios]. Itโ€™s not an easy opponent. Heโ€™s a champion. I have to be 100% mentally and physically.โ€
