Oleksandr Usyk can only be beaten by one thing, says Teddy Atlas
Boxing legend Teddy Atlas believes there is only one thing that can defeat undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk – and it isn’t another boxer.
As we know, Oleksandr Usyk is the best heavyweight on the planet today. He’s been able to claim that title courtesy of five very specific wins: Anthony Joshua x2, Tyson Fury x2 and Daniel Dubois. So, you could say that he’s got a thing for defeating British heavyweights.
Regardless of whether you like him or not, there’s no denying the success that Oleksandr Usyk has been able to have. Even in his late 30s, he’s still capable of going out there and putting on world class peformances for the world to see. At this point, though, many have been left to wonder what exactly is going to be next for him after his second win over Fury.
In a recent podcast, the great Teddy Atlas weighed in and gave his thoughts on the future of Oleksandr Usyk.
Teddy Atlas on what can defeat Oleksandr Usyk
“Who’s there now to beat Usyk? You ready for my answer? The same guy who’s been on the rise to beat all the greats. Father time. The same guy who’s just laying in wait.
“Whether your name is Ali, Louis or your name is Uysk, just waiting, waiting for that chance to get you into that place. Father Time, the only undefeated fighter. Usyk’s 38 now, that’s the only thing. I’m not saying he’s showing signs of deterioration, no, and he lives the right life, and that’s important.”

For Usyk, it’s a case of maximising the time he has left at the elite level in the boxing ring. He is still a household name, and he’ll want to get a few more big paydays in before he’s done.
