Oleksandr Usyk Reveals Dana White Wants Him To Join The UFC

The former undisputed cruiserweight boxing champion turned heavyweight contender, Oleksandr Usyk, claims Dana White has offered him the chance to compete inside the Octagon.

Usyk is currently the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s WBO heavyweight title. The Ukrainian seemingly will have to wait for his shot as ‘AJ’ who is set for a mega-money undisputed fight against his compatriot, Tyson Fury, later this year.

The 34-year-old is intent on fighting rather than waiting for his shot at heavyweight gold. Usyk has been in talks with the undefeated, Olympic silver medallist, Joe Joyce but talks appear to be at an impasse right now.

Speaking to Ukrainian TV station X Sport, Usyk revealed he has an offer on the table to switch sports.

“Recently Dana White wrote to me if I would like to try myself in the UFC,” Usyk said. I replied, ‘Send an offer, I am ready.’ So I have many options for what to do. I’m not going to sit still and wait for Joshua and Fury to fight. I’ll find someone to box with.”

Usyk holds several high-profile wins inside the squared circle. The 18-0 boxer beat Michael Hunter, Marco Huck, Mairis Briedis and Murat Gassiev to establish himself as the cruiserweight king. Since moving up to heavyweight Usyk has picked up a win over long-time contender Derek Chisora.

Do you think Oleksandr Usyk is seriously considering joining the UFC?
