Report: Boxing Analyst Max Kellerman To Be Removed From ESPN’s ‘First Take’

Kellerman

Max Kellerman may have had his last take.

The boxing analyst and commentator is set to be removed from ESPN’s “First Take” as per a New York Post report.

Kellerman — who on the show regularly debates fellow co-host Stephen A. Smith on a number of sports topics including boxing — will not be done with ESPN, though.

Instead, he is likely headed to the network’s morning radio show to team up with Keyshawn Johnson. Kellerman — who also has a boxing-focused program “Max On Boxing” — is likely to have an afternoon TV show at 2 p.m. as well.

Interestingly, the New York Post had this to say:

“Kellerman’s removal from “First Take” has been in the offing for a long time, as Smith has further cemented himself as the face of ESPN.

“Smith, who signed a five-year, $60 million deal with ESPN in 2019, has often appeared disenchanted with Kellerman.”

All in all, it looks like Kellerman will still be discussing boxing at large. Just don’t expect anymore heated debates with Smith as far as the sweet science is concerned.
