Ryan Garcia Promises To Finish Gervonta Davis Inside Two Rounds

Garcia

Ryan Garcia has made it clear he is looking to fight Gervonta Davis.

Garcia picked up the biggest win of his career over the weekend when he stopped Luke Campbell and after the win, called out Davis. Immediately, it was a fight many fans were excited about, and just days later, Garcia doubled-down on the callout and made it clear, if Davis doesn’t accept, his legacy is tainted.

“If you do not take this next fight from me, you will not be remembered. Your legacy will forever be tainted if you do not accept this fight,” Garcia stated to TMZ Sports (via boxingscene). “It’s the most important fight to boxing right now.”

If Davis does end up accepting the fight, Ryan Garcia is confident he will finish the undefeated fighter and do so early.

“I don’t have time for celebrations. I’m on one mission. I’m on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in two rounds … This man will go down. Two rounds — that’s a promise,” Garcia said. “This is the fight. Joshua needs to fight Fury and I need to fight Gervonta. That’s it! We need to get this on. I’m going for it! This is it!”

With the win over Campbell, Garcia is now 21-0 with 18 knockouts. The 22-year-old rising star is now the vacant WBC interim lightweight champion and is the mandatory for Devin Haney, but wants Davis. The hope for Garcia, is Haney fights Teofimo Lopez and the winners face each other to have one lightweight champion.

Geronta Davis, meanwhile, is 24-0 and coming off a highlight-reel KO over Leo Santa Cruz to win the WBA (Super) super featherweight title. He is also the WBA lightweight champion.

Whether or not Garcia and Davis will fight each other next is uncertain. However, there is no question they will eventually fight one day and it will be a massive fight for boxing.

Who do you think would win, Ryan Garcia or Gervonta Davis?
