Terence Crawford Plans To Leave A Legacy That’s Never Been Left Before

Terence Crawford says he plans to leave a legacy like no one has left before, as he looks to become the undisputed champion in three weight classes.

Crawford is set to box Israil Madrimov for the WBA and WBO interim junior middleweight titles on Aug. 3 from Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium. Crawford is coming off a one-sided beatdown of Errol Spence Jr., and he’s now chasing more greatness as he says he wants to leave a legacy that no one can touch.

“I want to leave a legacy that’s never been left before,” Crawford said. “I’ve seen it all. He’s very talented and strong, but I’ve fought guys who are talented and strong. He has good footwork, but I’ve fought guys with good footwork. He’s elusive. But I’ve fought guys who are elusive. It’s just about me dictating the pace and doing what I want to do in the ring and taking away what he wants to do.”

Crawford says the plan is to remain at 154lbs and chase greatness there, and after that, he isn’t sure what weight class he would be fighting at.

“Right now we’re at 154 pounds,” said Crawford. “I’m going to make my mark at 154, and then if I’m still around, we’ll see what the future holds. But now I’m going to make my mark where I’m at.”

Terence Crawford is 40-0 as a pro and coming off the win over Spence. Before that, he KO’d David Avanesyan and also holds notable wins over Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Amir Khan, and Jeff Horn among others.
