Tyson Fury rejects possible boxing return

Tyson Fury

Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has rejected the possibility of him returning to the ring at some point in the future.

As we know, Tyson Fury achieved some incredible things throughout the course of his career. In fact, many would say that he had two chapters to his time in professional boxing, and both were pretty extraordinary. However, in his two most recent outings, the man who is set to turn 37 years of age next week lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk.

Following those defeats, Tyson Fury declared that he was retired from the sport and that he wouldn’t be coming back. Alas, a lot of fans and pundits chose not to believe him, insisting that we will see him again at some point in the future – most likely to battle it out with Anthony Joshua in a showdown that has been a long time coming.

However, in a recent interview with Sky Sports while at the races up in Doncaster, Tyson Fury dismissed the idea of a comeback.

“Too old, look at my beard, all grey,” he said.

“Boxing is a young man’s game.”

Fury was then asked about whether he’d race horses instead at some point in the future.

“Maybe, who knows,” he replied.

‘The Gypsy King’ is one of the best to ever do it at heavyweight but even with that being the case, it’s understandable to see why he wouldn’t want to put himself through another training camp. Sure, there’s a chance that he’ll be able to fight his way back to a third meeting with Oleksandr Usyk, but that’s a pretty big risk given how the first two fight went.

As for the Joshua superfight, it all comes down to how much money the man wants to make.
