Tyson Fury Predicts Billy Joe Saunders Will Give Canelo βA Boxing Lessonβ
WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, is backing Billy Joe Saunders to spring a monstrous upset by beating Saul βCaneloβ Alvarez on May 8.
βBJSβ is in the biggest fight of his career next month. The Englishman hopes to unify the super middleweight division by beating Mexican superstar, Canelo.
Saunders is a considerable underdog heading into the fight but is being back by his friend, Fury, who told Behind The Gloves he expects βBJSβ to give Canelo a boxing lesson.
βI think Billy Joe gives him a boxing lesson, βFury said. “That’s what I’m here to see. Thatβs what Iβm here to see and thatβs what I think will happen.
βEveryone raves on about Canelo and how good he is and how heβs such a great guy and whatever. I just think every time Billy Joe steps into the pressure cooker he delivers. Much like myself.
Fury understands that Saunders is up against a good boxer.
βWeβre up against a good fighter in Canelo, whoβs strong and physically mature, big for the weight. And likes to hold his feet and fire good, hard punches. Heβs got good head movement and that.
βThe Gypsy Kingβ was keen to highlight the strengths of Saunders and explained exactly what the WBO champion is fighting for on May 8.
βBilly Joe is a master boxer. A slick southpaw with good footwork and good ring IQβ¦ I know heβll fancy this one. It’s a lot on the line. Whatβs on the line here is the difference between being a world champion twice. Or going down as a great in the sport. This is whatβs on the line here. I definitely think he’s going to shock a lot of people and it’s going to be an easier fight than people think it is.β
