Canelo Alvarez closing as decent betting favorite to beat Terence Crawford in September super fight
Just months out now from their hugely-anticipated showdown in September, Mexican striking ace, Canelo Alvarez is fast-approaching as a rather sizeable betting favorite to beat Terence Crawford in โSin Cityโ โ and hand his fellow champion his first professional loss.
Canelo, the current undisputed super middleweight world champion, will return to the ring in his biggest boxing outing in years, taking on the undefeated light middleweight kingpin, Crawford in a blockbuster showcase in Las Vegas.
And unifying the titles against William Scull in an already-forgettable title warm-up fight back in May of this year in his first outing with Saudi royal adviser, Turki Alalshikh, Canelo landed a one-sided unanimous decision win over the Cuban striker.

As for Crawford, the former welterweight kingpin landed the interim light middleweight crown back in August of last year, landing a decision win over Israil Madrimov in Los Angeles.
And finally set to share the squared circle in September, Canelo Alvarez is emerging as an impressive -200 betting favorite to beat the unbeaten, Terence Crawford โ who is riding a current +160 betting underdog lines. And months out from the showdown, fans of boxing can still find the best odds and markets on the fight available at Missouri sports betting.

Earlier this month, too โ we received some much-needed update on the state of affairs of the massive showdown in the North American desert. UFC CEO, Dana White will still serve as an official promoter, as will Saudi outfit, Sela.
And to boot, global streaming platform, Netflix will broadcast the massive Canelo Alvarez – Terence Crawford showdown on September 13.
Supremely confident of guiding his trainee to a win over Crawford โ Caneloโs head coach, Eddy Reynoso has even claimed the Mexican pugilist will not only win, but finish the Nebraska fighter with a devastating knockout win.
โWeโre going to win by knockout,โ Reynoso told ESNews recently. โWhichever round it may be, but weโre going to knock him [Terence Crawford] out.
โCrawford is a tremendous fighter โ very complete โ but that day, youโre going to see a different Canelo (Alvarez).โ
Naturally – a much more sizeable fighter, Canelo has even competed as high as the light heavyweight limit, dropping a decision loss to Dmitry Bivol back in 2022 โ snapping his staggering sixteen fight winning run, since a 2013 decision loss to Floyd Mayweather.
And during that winning spree, the Jalisco striker even won light heavyweight gold โ landing a WBO crown at the weight class with a penultimate round knockout win over Russian icon, Sergey Kovalev.
Warned of the size discrepancy between the duo, Crawford was offered a word of concern by former world champion, Shane Mosley โ who pointed that the Omaha nativeโs best chance of success is to plant his feet and bring the fight to the countering Canelo.
โI think Canelo is too big for Crawford,โ Mosley told FightHype recently. โI think that, being Crawford is a fighter, thatโs going to be a problem. Heโs a fighter. He wants to fight. He can move a little bit, but his heart is not in moving. So, heโs going to have to sit there and fight with Canelo.โ
