Join BoxingDaily as we break down both men’s careers and the boxing odds before offering you an official prediction of how Fury vs Usyk will play out.

Tyson Fury

Fury is the -125 betting favourite ahead of his biggest fight to date and there are a few reasons why.

‘The Gypsy King’ has been there and done that at heavyweight for years.

From traveling to the Lion’s Den to end Wladimir Klitschko’s decade of dominance to bouncing back from Deontay Wilder’s power shots to emerge victoriously.

The 34-0-1 fighter is one of the biggest boxers of all time at 6ft 9in and will tower over Usyk, who is six inches shorter and naturally made for the cruiserweight division.

Fury also has a big weight advantage. The 35-year-old has slimmed down since his poor performance against Francis Ngannou, but he’ll still be several stone heavier than Usyk on fight night.

So, if he’s able to impose his size it could be a long night for the Ukrainian.

The Englishman is not known as a KO artist, but at around 265lbs he certainly packs a punch and has stopped 24 of the 34 men he’s beaten in the ring.

A finish in Fury’s favour is priced at +300 as the oddsmakers clearly see it as a fight that will be decided by the judges after 12 rounds of action.

Still, you can get +225 odds on Fury to get it done by decision this weekend.

Oleksandr Usyk

Usyk is a slight +100 underdog despite being close to perfect during his 21-0 professional boxing career.

The Olympic gold medallist quickly became one of the best cruiserweights on the planet and after 10 fights he was a world champion. Five fights later he was the undisputed king.

Usyk ended his cruiserweight run with a sensational KO win over Tony Bellew before making the bold decision to step up to heavyweight to take on boxing’s big men.

‘The Cat’ is 6ft 3in and weighs around 220lbs. Naturally, he’s been the smaller man every time he’s fought at heavyweight, but he’s made it look relatively easy so far.

Chazz Witherspoon and Dereck Chisora fell before Usyk stepped in against WBO, WBA, and IBF champion Anthony Joshua, who was no match for him over 24 rounds of boxing.

The 37-year-old KO’d Daniel Dubois in his last fight, but there was some controversy when a borderline body shot that dropped Usyk was ruled a low blow.

Usyk is similar to Fury as he’s regarded as a master boxer rather than a KO artist, even though he does have pop in his shots and has stopped 14 of his pro wins.

Still, you’ll get massive odds of +500 for him to finish the fight this weekend.

The bookmakers are convinced the way Usyk gets it done against Fury is by decision and the +175 odds show they clearly think he’s capable of pulling of the upset.

Official prediction

We are confident in our pick despite opinions about this fight being split.

Usyk is very talented and could probably beat most heavyweights on the planet – but his size disadvantages will come back to haunt him this weekend.

‘The Gypsy King’ will simply be too big for Usyk. He’ll be able to be aggressive without overly fearing the pop in the punches coming back at him.

Fury will use his weight to tire out Usyk while popping him with body shots, which appear to be his kryptonite, before closing the show with a knockout.

For us, this is a case of Usyk biting off a bit more than he chew against Fury.

Fury by KO at +300 is our official pick for this fight.
