Anthony Yarde vs. Joshua Buatsi Could Be Finalized This Week, Says Promoter

Anthony Yarde

Ben Shalom says Anthony Yarde vs. Joshua Buatsi could be finalized very soon.

The promoters have reportedly agreed to a 50-50 split, but Frank Warren came out and gave some doubts that the fight will happen. However, speaking to BoxingScene, Shalom says he expects the fight to happen and be agreed to very soon.

โ€œThatโ€™s not my side, so itโ€™s hard to speculate on what theyโ€™re negotiating on, but Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™ll come to a solution,” Shalom said. “[Yardeโ€™s] under pressure to take the fight regardless, but Iโ€™ve seen his interviews โ€“ he wants the fight as well. Everyone wants the fight. You canโ€™t blame the promoter and the fighter for wanting to get the best terms for themselves. Thatโ€™s normal. Itโ€™s positive and itโ€™s looking like the fight will happen.ย [Iโ€™m] not concerned at all. Ultimately, I know what itโ€™s like. Every fighterโ€™s different and every situationโ€™s different. The positive thing is itโ€™s clear both fighters, in my opinion, want the fight. Both promoters want the fight. Thereโ€™s a deal in principle. Itโ€™s positive. Itโ€™s the only fight everyoneโ€™s talking about…

โ€œThe fightโ€™s agreed, in terms of between the promoters,โ€ Shalom continued. โ€œWeโ€™re all good with Josh. I think he said that โ€“ I think Frank said himself, him and Anthony are just trying to come to an agreement. Everyone wants the fight. Itโ€™s the biggest fight for both of them.ย Itโ€™s the right time. I hope we get it on soon. I think weโ€™re all gonna try and sit down in a room [this] week with the fighters there and thrash everything out.โ€

Anthony Yarde is 25-3 and coming off a KO win over Marko Nikolic and is on a two-fight winning streak, with his last loss coming to Artur Beterbiev.

Joshua Buatsi, meanwhile, is 18-0 as a pro and coming off a decision win over Dan Azeez.
