Bam Rodriguez Feels Confident Going Into Title Fight Against Juan Francisco Estrada
Bam Rodriguez has a ton of confidence heading into his WBC super-flyweight title fight with Juan Francisco Estrada on June 29.
Rodriguez is returning to the super flyweight division to challenge Estrada, and leading up to the fight, he sparred Roman โChocolatitoโ Gonzalez. Of course, Gonzalez and Estrada fought three times, so sparring ‘Chocolatito’ has given Rodriguez confidence.
โThis isnโt the first fight that Iโm being doubted, or people are saying I canโt win. So, itโs just another fight. Every day is another day in the gym, and then on June 29 I will show everyone once again that I am the real deal. Itโs not about him, itโs about what I have inside me and the style I have. I know what I am capable of, so I go into the fight knowing that I feel that no one can beat me. I just know I am ready, whether he was young and active or not, I know I can beat any version of Estrada,” Rodriguez said, via BoxingScene.
โIโve been taking tough fights for my last four, five, six fights now. Iโve lost count of them. Iโve been in world-title fights since 2022, and I feel like winning this fight in a dominant fashion or even stopping Estrada โ it will make people believe. But if it doesnโt, thatโs okay. I know what I am accomplishing in the sport and thatโs what matters. The pressure is on me as the one coming up. Estrada has been around, and people know what heโs done, so itโs up to me to show the world that I am one of the greats in the lower weight classes and the world of boxing as well. Iโm more motivated than ever and very confident going into this fight, so you can expect the best of me on June 29,” Rodriguez added.
Bam Rodriguez enters the bout as a -450 favorite to defeat Juan Francisco Estrada.
Rodriguez is 19-0 and coming off a stoppage win over Sunny Edwards.
