Caleb Plant falls to loss against Armando Resendiz in stunning upset

Caleb Plant loses to Armando Resendiz

Caleb Plant fell to a stunning upset loss against Armando Resendiz last weekend, throwing his planned bout against Jermall Charlo into jeopardy.

As we know, Caleb Plant has never been afraid to talk trash – and he’s never been afraid to put it all on the line when he climbs into the ring. Ahead of his scheduled bout with Armando Resendiz last weekend, the expectation was that he’d throw down with Jermall Charlo if both men won their respective bouts.

Charlo got the job done, but Caleb Plant fell short – in a big way, too. Plant was hurt and almost stopped in the fight and while he did manage to battle his way back into proceedings, he was ultimately beaten on the scorecards.

After the contest, Caleb Plant addressed the defeat and made it known that he felt as if he should’ve been the one to have his hand raised.

“I felt like it was close and in a close fight, sometimes it switches the other way,” Plant said. “I feel like I was in control enough and using the whole ring, using my jab, but the judges saw it the other way.”

“It wasn’t that he was putting so much pressure on me,” he said. “He caught me with one overhand right. That was pretty good. But other than that, nothing really hurt me or stunned me.”

“I felt like I did good,” he said. “I used my jab, I used the whole ring and was patient, but I wasn’t the better man tonight. I’ll just get back with my team. Go home to my family, spend time with my daughter. My son’s on the way and you know we’ll regroup and we’ll be back.”
