Canelo Alvarez Wins Eighth-Round TKO Against Billy Joe Saunders After Corner Stoppage (Highlights)

Canelo Alvarez went one step closer to unifying the super-middleweight division.

Alvarez fought Billy Joe Saunders in a title unification clash Saturday night at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

It was all Alvarez early on and while Saunders did have his fair share of moments as he won a few rounds, the Mexican ultimately turned it up in the eight round with a notable uppercut which seemingly broke the orbital bone of Saunders in the process.

After Saunders went to the corner, his team ultimately decided he couldn’t continue as the fight was stopped soon after.

As a result, Alvarez won the WBO super-middleweight title which is added to his WBA and WBC titles. All he needs now is Caleb Plant’s IBF title to complete the unification entirely.
