Carl Froch Believes Anthony Joshua Showed Tyson Fury Is On The Decline

Carl Froch believes Tyson Fury is on the decline and it showed by Anthony Joshua’s performance against Francis Ngannou.

Joshua scored a second-round KO over Ngannou as he made the fight look easy as he dominated the former UFC heavyweight champ. It was a total change of pace from Ngannou’s fight with Fury as he had success and even dropped the Brit.

So, according to Carl Froch, he believes Tyson Fury is on the decline and Anthony Joshua confirmed it.

โ€œFury must have just been having a really bad night โ€“ or, like I think, Furyโ€™s past his best,โ€ Froch said. โ€œHeโ€™s seen better days. “I study the sport and I study the fights, and Tyson Fury used to throw 30-plus feints a round. Feint, feint. Draw his opponent in, feint. Double jab, right hand. Heโ€™s not doing the feints anymore. Heโ€™s doing four or five feints. Heโ€™s slow on his feet. Heโ€™s been knocked down five times [in recent years]. When youโ€™re hitting the floor and getting hit on the chin and not throwing feints and not as busy as you used to be, that means youโ€™re past your best and youโ€™re on the decline and youโ€™re on the slide.

โ€œI donโ€™t think the Usyk fight happens,โ€ Froch continued. โ€œIf it does, [Fury] must love the pound note, because heโ€™s got enough money. He donโ€™t need to fight. If he fights Usyk, heโ€™ll get beat โ€“ unless Iโ€™m totally wrong and Furyโ€™s just not taking the sport seriously.ย When I watched that Netflix series โ€“ heโ€™s up and down mentally. If he takes it seriously and he fancies it and heโ€™s happy and on a high, he trains properly. You might see the last, best Tyson Fury. He might get in there with Usyk and be too big for him and too quick, and beat him and dominate him, and then I hope he retires.

โ€œBut, one, I donโ€™t think the fight will happen. Two, if it happens, I think โ€“ unless he rekindles the old flame โ€“ heโ€™s going to get easily beat. I donโ€™t think itโ€™ll be a knockout or anything like that. I just think itโ€™ll be a points job, or maybe a late stoppage, because Usyk is a lot smaller than him, and a bit lighter. But heโ€™s growing into the weight now. But heโ€™s an old man himself. Heโ€™s past his best,” Froch concluded.

Although Carl Froch thinks Tyson Fury is on the decline, the Brit has the chance to prove the doubters wrong as he faces Oleksandr Usyk.
