Is Chris Eubank Jr in trouble?
Chris Eubank Jr has been fined upwards of £600,000 for both his press conference actions and his weight miss – and it feels like there’s a bit of a spiral going on as we get closer and closer to the fight.
Tonight, Chris Eubank Jr will attempt to silence all of the doubters. He will try and put Conor Benn in his rear view mirror, and he will aim to prove that he is the better man of the two, and the better boxer. Of course, it’s going to be easier said than done, and it hasn’t been made any easier by him missing weight.
He didn’t look good at all on the scales and when that kind of thing happens, it immediately raises a few eyebrows. Now, the public perception has somewhat shifted, with a lot of folks believing that Chris Eubank Jr is heading for defeat against Benn.
While we understand that there are rules and regulations in place for a reason regarding the weight, we do have a bit of a problem with all of this.
Chris Eubank Jr is in trouble
The rehydration clause is dangerous and there’s simply no way of getting around that. While Chris Eubank Jr has been punished pretty severely for what were deemed to be unacceptable actions, it feels like Conor Benn is getting away with murder. Have we all forgotten about the doping violations, or are we simply ignoring it because it doesn’t quite fit the narrative that is being told?
Eubank Jr isn’t exactly a saint but he’s been through a lot. He knows what it feels like to experience setbacks and he knows better than anyone how difficult it can be to navigate through this world. Hopefully, at the very least, he’s able to put it all on the line and prove why he’s such a top talent.
