Mike Tyson Doubts Joshua Ahead Of Fury Fight: βHeβs Not Gonna Hit Him
Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson has already made his pick ahead of the eagerly anticipated fight between current heavyweight titleholders Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
According to Matchroom Boxingβs Eddie Hearn both fighters have signed off on a two-fight deal. Now the heavyweight champions have signed on the dotted line, Hearn and Bob Arum have the not so small task of finding a host site for the first fight which is expected to take place this summer.
If the fight does come off, βIron Mikeβ is backing Fury to emerge victorious and recently explained why.
βListen, you know I love f***ing Joshua,β Tyson told Haute Living. βBut I really think this Tysonβs too elusive, heβs not gonna hit him.
“Listen, keeping it honest, I like Joshua a lot. Maybe he punches harder than Wilder, but he doesnβt punch faster than Wilder. If he doesnβt punch faster than Wilder, heβs not gonna f***ing touch this guy.
βThatβs just what I think, he punches hard, but he doesnβt punch fast. If Tyson Fury can get away from Wilderβs fast punches, Joshua might be in trouble.β (Transcribed by TalkSport)
Joshua currently holds the WBA, IBF AND WBO heavyweight titles. The Olympic gold medallist was last seen in action against Kubrat Pulev in December 2020. βAJβ dominated his mandatory challenger through nine rounds before finding the finish.
Fury has been out the ring considerably longer than his heavyweight rival. βThe Gypsy Kingβ last fought in February 2020 againstΒ Deontay Wilder. The two fighters previously went to a controversial draw in 2019.
In the rematch, Fury left no doubt. He hit, dropped and hurt Wilder on several occasions before Mark Breland mercifully threw in the towel in round seven.
Do you agree with Mike Tyson? Will Anthony Joshua be unable to land on Tyson Fury when they fight?
