Conor Benn will have enough to defeat Chris Eubank Jr, says Eddie Hearn
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is of the belief that Conor Benn will have enough in his locker to defeat Chris Eubank Jr this weekend.
On Saturday night, Conor Benn faces the biggest test of his boxing career by a country mile. He will lock horns with long-time rival Chris Eubank Jr at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and a lot of fight fans are torn over what the end result is going to be.
Regardless of who gets the job done, one thing we know for sure is that this one has the potential to be a classic. Benn and Eubank Jr quite clearly don’t like one another and if they can replicate the same intensity their fathers had back in the day, we could be in for something special.
In a recent interview, Conor Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn gave his thoughts on how he thinks this whole thing is going to play out.
Eddie Hearn on Conor Benn’s chances against Chris Eubank Jr
“If we could program Conor Benn, we wouldn’t need a training camp. We’d have a special button that just enables Conor Benn to turn up at the absolute peak of his powers,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV.
“No excuses. The absolute sharpest version of Conor is coming, and I believe that’s going to be good enough. Conor Benn is a big welterweight,” said Hearn. “On Saturday night, Chris Eubank Sr’s son will be fighting Nigel Benn’s son in front of 65,000 people.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime generational fight, and it’s going to be a great undercard as well. This is going to be electric. Let’s live in the moment and enjoy it. In the fight, it’s a 50-50 fight,” said Hearn about Eubank Jr. vs. Benn.
