Deontay Wilder Claims Oleksandr Usyk Turned Down ‘A Lot Of Money’ To Fight Him

Deontay Wilder has taken aim at Oleksandr Usyk and claims he’s terrified of fighting him.

Wilder has been trying to get into a fight for quite some time but he hasn’t had any luck. He has taken aim at Francis Ngannou and Andy Ruiz Jr., and now has blasted Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian is the current heavyweight champ and is without an opponent, but Wilder claims Usyk turned down a lot of money to fight him.

“I don’t think Usyk really cares. As long as he ain’t got to fight me. I don’t think he cares, as long as he don’t have to fight me, it’s all good, because that man is terrified of me,” Wilder told 78SPORTSTV. “He’s dodged me so many times and I know. And don’t act like I don’t know, I don’t want anyone to come out like, ‘Usyk said this and that. It would be a lie because I know a lot of sh!t. I’m in the business, I know. He’s been offered a lot of money to fight me, many times. But he’s denied it. They said they do not want Bomb Squad problems.”

On paper, Deontay Wilder vs. Oleksandr Usyk would be a massive fight but for many fans, the hope the fight is Usyk vs. Fury. Yet, as of right now, none of these fights are close to happening and it is uncertain what is next for Usyk.

Deontay Wilder (43-2-1) returned to the win column back in October with a first-round KO over Robert Helenius. Prior to that, he suffered back-to-back stoppage losses to Tyson Fury to lose his WBC heavyweight title. In his career, he holds notable wins over Luis Ortiz, Dominic Breazeale, Chris Arreola, and Gerald Washington among others.
