Devin Haney Blasts Gervonta Davis, Accuses Him Of Ducking Top Competiton: ‘He Doesn’t Want To Fight Nobody’

Devin Haney is criticizing who Gervonta Davis is fighting, as he doesn’t think ‘Tank’ wants to fight the best.

The Mayweather fighter is one of the more popular fighters in the division, yet opponents like Haney, Ryan Garcia and others have called him out but those fights haven’t happened. Both would be massive paydays but according to Haney, he thinks David doesn’t want to fight any of them as he’s scared to lose.

“We all know that Tank isn’t gonna fight nobody,” said Haney during an interview with Behind The Gloves (h/t BoxingScene). “He doesn’t want to fight nobody. It’s been like that for a while now so the more realistic fight is Lomachenko.”

Gervonta Davis is 27-0 and coming off a KO win over Rolly Romero back in May while before that, he scored a controversial decision win over Isaac Cruz. In his career, he does hold notable wins over Mario Barrios, Leo Santa Cruz, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Francisco Fonseca among others. Yet, Haney still isn’t sold he wants to fight the best and become a unified champion.

If Devin Haney can’t get the Gervonta Davis fight, he is open to facing Vasyl Lomachenko next time out if the former champ defeats Jamaine Ortiz on October 29th.

“I don’t know,” said Haney when asked if Lomachenko will pick up the win against Ortiz. “I don’t really know much about Ortiz to be honest. We gotta see how he holds up against, you know, coming out of the war and the environment that he was in, so we’ll see.”

Yet, before any of those fights can come to fruition, Haney will need to beat George Kambosos Jr. in the rematch in Melbourne, Australia on October 16th. He’s a massive favorite and many expect him to cruise to another win as he did in the first fight.

Who would you like to see Devin Haney fight next if he defeats George Kambosos Jr.?
