Eddie Hearn Trying To Make Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Derek Chisora: ‘Great Fight’

Eddie Hearn wants to see Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Derek Chisora next.

The Matchroom Boxing promoter revealed an initial offer was made to Ruiz and PBC.

However, they wanted more money. With that said, Hearn still appears keen on making what he believes to be a “great fight” happen.

“When is Chisora out next?” Hearn said in a recent interview (via Boxing Scene). “I want to make Chisora against Andy Ruiz Jr. I made PBC an offer for that fight on Friday.

“They want more money, understood, but I want to make Chisora vs Ruiz, that’s a great fight.”

Eddie Hearn No Longer Wants Derek Chisora vs. Deontay Wilder

Chisora last competed in December when he was outpointed by Joseph Parker in their rematch. Chisora notably took a lot of damage in that fight.

Soon after, Hearn spoke of a potential fight with Deontay Wilder for Chisora which puzzled many.

That no longer appears to be the case as Hearn is now targeting other options for his fighter.

“It’s obviously a very dangerous fight [against Wilder],” Hearn said in a different interview. “There’s been a few talks about Chisora against Luis Ortiz, with those guys. and I like that fight.

“Chisora against [Chris] Arreola. Chisora against Zhang Zhilei. He’s never in a bad fight and he wants to fight. He wants the biggest fights out there and we’re trying to find him one.”

The Ruiz fight would certainly make sense for both fighters.
