Jaron Ennis Expects To Eventually The Big Names But Knows He Has To Be Patient

Jaron Ennis knows he has to be patient to get fights against the big names in the division.

Ennis says he wants to be in the conversation for fighter of the year in 2023 but he knows a big hurdle is finally getting the chance to fight the top guys.

“It’s all about fighting the best,” said Ennis. “I want to fight all the top guys and the guys that everybody knows. But things don’t always go how they’re supposed to.”

Ennis is set to face Karen Chukhadzhian on January 7 in another fight where Ennis is a massive favorite. He’s currently 29-0 with one No Contest as a pro but he believes a win on January 7 will get him closer to his goal of fighting the big names.

“I feel like I just have to keep winning and doing my thing,” Ennis said. “On January 7, it’s another step toward me getting my hands on those titles. Maybe I have to talk a little bit more, but I’m really a vicious dog that just likes to bite. I don’t want to be somebody that I’m not. I’m going to be myself and be humble. I’m going to do this my way.”

One name Jaron Ennis may possibly fight is Errol Spence Jr., which is a fight he has called for. It is an exciting matchup for the fans to think about, but Ennis says the plan is to just win and force his way into getting a fight against a top name.

“At the end of the day, patience and timing is key and you’ve got to wait your turn just like everybody else,” said Ennis. “Like I say, everybody’s pay-up is different to a world title, and mine is just taking a little longer. But I know it’s coming and I know I’m gonna be world champion soon.”
