John Fury Blasts Francis Ngannou’s Media Workout

John Fury, the dad of Tyson Fury, wasn’t a fan of Francis Ngannou’s media workout.

Ngannou and Fury are set to box on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a bout that is intriguing. Fury is a massive betting favorite as it is Ngannou’s boxing debut. But, the former UFC heavyweight champion is known for his one-punch KO power which makes it so interesting.

However, after Francis Ngannou’s media day workout was posted, John Fury wasn’t pleased with it at all and claimed it will be an easy night for Tyson Fury.

“Just seen Francis Ngannou and Mike Tyson and that so-called trainer, the one that has got the pads on, in the open workout,” Fury said in a video posted on social media (h/t BoxingScene). “I hope he’s kidding along and he’s playing possum here. I hope that’s a joke and intended to be a laugh because if it’s not, he ain’t got a prayer. He ain’t got a hell’s chance. He won’t get out the first round. It’ll probably be Tyson’s quickest knockout.”

The hope for John Fury is that Francis Ngannou’s media day workout was not him going all out, and instead, purposefully looking bad to give Tyson Fury more confidence.

“You know what, it has got to be kidology, that,” John Fury said. “ It’s got to be fun and games. Because if that’s what he’s got, well, God help him. He’ll get smashed to bits. That’s all I’m sayin’, mate. That’s embarrassing. If that’s what he can do in a public workout, don’t be doing a public workout. It’s a disgrace.”

Ultimately, we won’t know whether the media day workout was real, or if Francis Ngannou is a better boxer than that. But, regardless, Tyson Fury and his dad John are extremely confident they will get the win.
