Heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk has praised Dana White’s new boxing league.

Oleksandr Usyk, at this point, can do as he pleases. He’s coming off the back of five wins over Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury x2 and Anthony Joshua x2. So, to put it bluntly, he pretty much runs British boxing all on his own at this point.

The belief is that Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight will come against Joseph Paker. With that being said, he and his team appear to be open to any and all possibilities as they prepare to defend the crown in the prestige division of professional boxing.

Recently, UFC president Dana White announced the creation of a Saudi-backed boxing league. In a recent interview, Oleksandr Usyk gave his thoughts on the idea.

“Amazing, amazing idea. I think His Excellency is doing a lot for the sport,” Usyk said in comments reported by Al Arabiya News. “It is wonderful that new initiatives are created and I support it. Many people think things may not work, but it is important to do new things. Always.

He added: “I am not against it, but I haven’t been invited to participate in this league. But if such a proposal comes through, my team and I will seriously consider it.”
